Hello to everybody and everyone, it`s nice to be here and chat with people in english, and perhaps get some answers.
We live in southern Germany near Munich , I drive aTiguan and my wife has in November ordered a 150PS Polo Highline, to be delivered in Feb.2020
At the time of ordering she decided she didn`t need a navi because the Tiguan has one. Now after thinking it over she wants one, the dealer and the VW hotline are saying it not possible to change the original order.
That I can perhaps understand, but then I ask about replacing the units i. e. composition media and discover media when the car is by the dealer, they are physically identical, and we also have ordered the reversing camera and DAB radio.
But the answer I get is "not possible" no reason or explanation. Can anybody please throw a little more light on this and tell me why and what we can do. Thank you.
going from composition media to dicover media ??

I would image it would be extremely expansive for one, dealers probably don't have any instructions for doing it, part numbers involved etc and the coding required, maybe VW specifically state it isn't an upgrade dealers are allowed to perform as well.
My car doesn't have navigation, I didn't see the point in paying extra for something I wouldn't use when like I didn't in my previous car (2016 Leon FR that did come with navigation as standard),the car has Android Auto (and Apple Carplay) and apps like Waze and Google Maps are far superior to any built in navigation system.

Agree, I won’t be speccing the Discover media infotainment unit when I change my car. Also, with Waze and Google maps, you don’t have the hassle of having to update the maps, which based on discussions on other VW forums, can sometimes take ages.Griff74 wrote: Tue Dec 10, 2019 10:18 am I would image it would be extremely expansive for one, dealers probably don't have any instructions for doing it, part numbers involved etc and the coding required, maybe VW specifically state it isn't an upgrade dealers are allowed to perform as well.
