Car-net 'Guide & Inform'

Hi all, I'm currently waiting for my new Polo SEL, and it won't be here until about March 2020, it has the Discover Sat-nav, and it comes with this Car-net 'Guide & Inform' subscription, I'm unclear as to whether or not I can use the Sat-nav without the Car-net thing, or do I need the Car-net to be able to use the Sat-nav ?

Hi Clive,
I have a SEL which has a Sat nav and I haven’t bother connecting car net at all, And never had any problems but
Personally I run Waze off the apple car play as it is much more user friendly system.

Thanks Bonodog, I don't want to bother with the carnet, I'm getting too old for new technology now, that's why I wanted Satnav in the car rather than using some phone app or other technology, but all the info I've seen didn't make it clear whether or not the two could be used independently of each other.

You are not missing anything polo functions are hugely limited.
