VW Bettle 5C Automatic Lights
Hi,
I have a VW Bettle 5C (2012) which I want to retrofit with automatic lights.
I've studing the post and electrical wiring schemes published on this document
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2nv91 ... sp=sharing
But I am not sure if that scheme applies to my car ..

The reference of the BCM is 6R0 937 088 F, and its coding is 6CB8697808410C0093A809306E0B86C4ADC2610F60840C41B2A004000000

I found this DIY in other web page

Re: VW Bettle 5C Automatic Lights
Hello kantusjack, welcome.
I apologize you, I had not seen your post/thread.
Automatic lights are possible on your Beetle 5C as long as your Beetle has a light and rain sensor installed.
The diagram you have seen in my link is correct. It is applicable to your Beetle 5C with some minor modification due to the wire in T17/14 (= T17/16 ).
You just need to install the wiring for automatic lights, code the BCM correctly and maybe the rain sensor too.
If you want, post an Autoscan...
It is not necessary to disassemble the dashboard, as you have seen in the link to the firegrafik thread in the Russian forum. His electric installation is because he had to adapt a new BCM Max, and because the Russians do extraordinary things ...

Hi ciclo
THX a lot ..
I tried to upload an Autoscan, but the system says "Forbidden. Data submitted too often. Contains contacts."
Any case, you can check it here (even with the modification on BCM to retroffit OEM Bixenon)

Re: VW Bettle 5C Automatic Lights
I think the forum's post system doesn't allow you to post Autoscans until you have 10 posts. (I don't know the reason for this)kantusjack wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2020 9:38 am Hi ciclo

In relation to your retrofit OEM Bixenon this would be the perfect/new BCM coding for your Beetle 5C:
6CB8697808410C0093A809316E0B86C4F8C2670F60851841B2A004000000
If you have also installed OEM LED license plate lights, it would be this:
6CB8697808410C0093A809916E0B86C4F8C2670F60851841B2A004010000
---
Your final BCM coding posted in ross-tech is not correct.
Enter the new BCM coding, do not hesitate.
Check that there are no faults.
If the electrical installation was done correctly everything will work perfectly. OEM!

Re: VW Bettle 5C Automatic Lights
Before this, for your Beetle 5C MY 'C' (2011-2012), and to be able to tell you with total precision, you have to tell me the exact month of manufacture of your Beetle 5C, although the ideal thing would be to take a couple of pictures of the wires that reach the T17 light switch connector, on both sides, so that I can verify the diagrams.kantusjack wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2020 3:13 pm If I name the following connectors as

Also from the wires that reach the T8 dimmer connector.
Then I will comment on the correspondence between connectors that you have written.
In your case, an additional installation/modification must be made for signal 58. (one wire)

Re: VW Bettle 5C Automatic Lights
Thanks for the pictures and information.
---
For the intermittent fault in the BCM:
Enter the new BCM coding that I provided you, once it is accepted, go to/click in Autoscan Button in main window, click on the Gateway installation list, ... wait the reading..., Clear all DTCs, ... wait the reading, verify that everything is OK when the installation list appears. Take a ride with the car, check the lights in all the light switch positions. Stop, connect the VCDS and check the installation list again.
---
Once I have researched the diagrams for your Beetle of September 2011:
There are three ways to request signal 58 from the BCM (088, 089, 090 models).
- From pin T73b / 1. (coding required)
- From pin T73b / 4. Your BCM 088 F does not have such a pin.
- From pin T73b / 7. This is your case and your original installation is perfectly correct to be able to install automatic lights on your Beetle with OEM Bixenon headlights.
Therefore, it is not necessary to add or modify any original wire related to signal 58.
This pin T73b / 7 is also used for license plate lights.
---
The correspondence of wires between the connectors you posted earlier is totally correct for your automatic lights.
I see you understood well about pin T17 / 14.
---
Once you check the intermittent fault and provide information about it, I will post here the new BCM coding for your automatic lights.
