I have been searching information and it looks like you need to have a navigation system.

I have been searching information and it looks like you need to have a navigation system.
Watch this video and see if it helps...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CBHeXPHz8XI
For the video I think you have to trick the car into saying that it's equipped with navigation despite not having.
-Select Unit: module 5F (Information Electrical)
-Long Coding
-Byte 24
-bit 2 Navigation Function activated/installed -> Activated (Default -> Not activated)
-Save all changes press and hold volume knob for 10 seconds to reboot.
I activated the OffRoad Information Screen but my Polo GTI has navigation.
-Select Unit: module 5F (Information Electrical)
-Security Access 20103
-Adaptions
-Select Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2
-change menu_display_compass to -> Activated (Default -> Not activated)
-change menu_display_compass_over_threshold_high to -> Activated (Default -> Not activated)
-Select Car_Function_List_BAP_Gen2
-change compass_0x15 to -> Activated (Default -> Not activated)
-Save all changes press and hold volume knob for 10 seconds to reboot.
I hope I helped and says anything if it worked.

@J+silva; I’m intrigued - are you planning on driving your Polo off-road, or are the roads that you normally drive on really poor so instruments such as an inclinometer might be useful?

Hi srgtd no the roads hare not to bad, some times I go to the country but its not that the reason, if the car has some hidden functions why no to active it? More information is not harmful, for sure you have functions in your car that you use little or almost never but you know that if you need or want them they are available, and in this case I do not need to drive off-road to use this function.

I'm glad I could have helped...
"I tripped" in the video when I was collecting information to activate the OffRoad mode in my car and no, I didn't want to drive my Polo GTI Offroad.
For that reason I couldn't agree more with your statement...

I wanted to activate this for funsies too but despite following all the instructions online I couldn't get it to work.
The instructions here had one bit of information that wasn't in the other guides and that was the bit in long coding to tell the system that navigation is installed.
Once I did this the option showed up.
However, because my car doesn't have navigation I presume the compass and elevation aspects of this screen will not work?
