fuel consumption and trip

Post by Mike222 »

Has anyone had problems with the fuel consumption and trip display resetting itself to zero by its self ? It has happened a couple of times over the last few weeks . Seems to be working fine and then on start up from cold I notice the display has changed from how it was left and all the data regarding trip miles and fuel use have been reset .

There are 3 sets of data that you can cycle through with the "OK" button on the steering wheel. First is trip - It records and resets every journey where at least 2 hours have elapsed since that last journey. Second is long term - it records and updates then resets every 100 operational hours of use. 3rd is stats since last fill up. This will tell you your mpg across a tank of fuel. I suspect you're on Trip.

I usually have the “ overview “ displayed on the dash ( I have virtual cockpit ) so this show’s consumption from start , from refuel , and long term, they should accumulate as you add miles ( the “from refuel”clears to zero when fuel is added ) .
The problem is everything clearing to zero

Everything clearing to zero... has it just happened the once? At some point, the auto reset of the long term figure will roughly coincide with a fill-up and the zeroing of the "since fill up" stats. Have you held on to the "OK" button on the steering wheel too long, resetting whichever of the 3 sets of stats you were on within "overview"?

Do you fill little and often rather than filling up and getting down to the low miles end of the range?

It happened for the second time this morning ( the car is 6 months old ) . As I said previously the central display Is usually on the overview , since refuel screen . When turning on the ignition this morning the display showed “Range 60 mile “ ( not as it was left ) ! Then when switching back to overview everything is zero !

Mine had started doing this. Twice this week it’s done it. I’ve had the car from new for 7 months and it’s never done this to this week. I have not been messing with anything just started Doing it out of the blue.

In a way I’m glad yours has started doing it ( sorry ! ) I was thinking I was going daft !
It seems to be happening more often. I was contemplating contacting my dealership but it’s a longish journey and they have only just reopened after lockdown,so it’s probably dealing with more serious customer problems ! I may wait until first service in October.
Let me know if you resolve it
