Auto Lights

Post by Plend »

Anyone know if there is a way to increase the sensitivity on the auto headlights?

It seems to take until its virtually dark for them to kick in

In the settings menu on your touchscreen there is an option to have them set to early, normal or late. I’ve no idea if early means they come on for a slight drop in light or what though!

Cheers! I'll give it a bash and see if it makes any improvement

Set them to early. I' very had auto lights on all my VWs since 2007 and in my experience they come on way too early so I set them to late. For LED bulbs though, they use next to no energy so no fuel penalty for having them on.

After reading this post I checked my infotainment system for the option to adjust the turn on time to set when the auto lights come on (early medium and late) the option isn’t there and I did this with the ignition on. The only option for auto lights is auto headlight control (during rain). My question is am I the only one missing this option? After having a search on google almost all VAG cars with auto lights have this option.

Hiya, my 69 plate gti+ does NOT have this option to change the lights either, don’t know why as the manual says on models with sufficient equipment levels should have it, and the plus is top of the range.
Also I find it strange that the doors don’t auto unlock when going into p or pressing the start/stop button at the end of your journey.
All my previous golfs have had both these functions and they have all been lower levels in the range.

Not important in scheme of things but you would think all cars of same kind would be the same.

Maybe more cost cutting!!

After playing around with OBDeleven and looking on forums
I kinda figured out how to activate the option.

If anyone wants to activate the option via OBDeleven here it is.

Central electrics 09
1.Adaptation
2.Assistance light functions
3.Will beam assistant, responsivity adjustable via BAP
4.Old valve:- not active
5.New valve:- present
