Washer jets are intermittent

Post by CymruPolo1 »

Hello!

The Issue:
I have been experiencing an issue with my washer jets since this cold weather has passed.
I attempted to use the water jets during the cold weather and realised the screen wash had frozen, so stopped forcing the motor.

Since the weather has gotten warmer, pulling the stalk forward or backward no longer activates the front or rear windscreen washer jets.
Instead, the only jets that work are the headlight jets. Windscreen wipers still activate for 3 wipes as expected.

What I have checked:
  • The screenwash level - this is topped up.
  • The fuse - this doesn't seem to be defective. Are there any other fuses I should check?
  • The battery - this has been disconnected and connected again.

Unfortunately, so close to Christmas now, I am stuck without functioning windscreen washer jets :(

Does anyone have any next steps or suggestions I can try out?

Thanks so much :)

Recheck all your fuses in the interior fuse box with a multi meter I suspect one is blown.

Whenever I see an issue with the wipers on the Polo 6C, I'm thinking 'bad stalks'. And usually it is. But given that your headlight washers do work, perhaps the pump itself is bad.
Or it's still the stalks that are on their way out, but do supply enough current to power the BCM input signal, but not the pump itself.
