Hey fox,
Almost a year ago, I replaced my rear shock absorber bearing because they were dead and making the typicall "clunk" noise on each small bump of the road at low speed.
7 months later, and they are already dead...
I'm bored of the suspension of this car, everything is so fragile and weak.
The current part installed is the following one: 6R0513353B
Do you know is there is a solution like a stronger one or redesigned part ?

I've never had any trouble from that rear damper top mounting so far, my wife's VW Polo 1.2TSI 110PS SEL is almost 8 years old and 45,000miles, it will need new rear bump stops very soon as they are starting to biodegrade so harden and crack before cutting at the point where the protective tube bites into them, same item has been used since the start of Skoda Fabia in late 1999 T think!
I didn't have any trouble with the same item, or similar on my wife's previous 2002 VW Polo 1.4 75PS SE, we ran it, from new until it was 13 years old and 105,000miles.
Noises started coming from the front of the 2015 VW Polo 1.2TSI 110PS SEL though, I'll need to investigate that tomorrow, hopefully just ARB mounting bushes or drop links, at worst it will be strut top mountings!

Yeah the rear bump stop made of foam are trash. After 5-8 years, they are dead.RUM4MO wrote: ↑Sun Aug 06, 2023 8:02 pm I've never had any trouble from that rear damper top mounting so far, my wife's VW Polo 1.2TSI 110PS SEL is almost 8 years old and 45,000miles, it will need new rear bump stops very soon as they are starting to biodegrade so harden and crack before cutting at the point where the protective tube bites into them, same item has been used since the start of Skoda Fabia in late 1999 T think!

But man, I don't know if it's because my car is lowered but, they didn't last a year, it's crazy.

I have found Meyle HD to be excellent, Lemforder too on suspension related upgrades.
