Can the boot unlocking function with the key fob be disabled or if not, the automatic locking of the boot when closed, disabled?.

Because its so easy to drop the keys into the boot if loading up with luggage/shopping or your? golf clubs, you then close the boot lid with your keys locked safely inside the boot, its happened numerous times to friends of mine on other makes of cars.

Makes sense now

Mine boot doesn't lock anything unless you press the lock button on the fob

Just to be clear, my key fob has 3 buttons "Lock" "boot Lid" (picture) and "unlock". If you unlock everything with the "unlock" then everything stays unlocked after opening/closing, including the boot lid.
If everything is locked and you press the "boot Lid" unlock button then the boot lid unlocks but if you then open it and close it again then it self locks, I'm fairly sure most other VWs do the same but mybe wrong.

Cant acces any controller with my HEX-V2 VCDS release 23.3.1 in "Select Auto Mode", all the controllers just time out, everything else is fine.

I see.

I suppose if don't use the boot unlock.. ever..

I can see why this could be a problem for boot only if using that method.

With the 3 button key, you are getting "security with convenience", I'd suggest that if you want to carry out this change, that you either search out a 2 button key or physically modify your 3 button key to remove the "with convenience" feature and so retain "security".

Scroll down to +00002 and Trunk Lid Remote Unlocking is down as installed
Wonder if you can change it to Not Installed ?

AW works in longcoding with bits and bytes.
9N works different, you add options in the coding

i messed about a bit with the coding, switching rear lid functions off and back on but made no difference

So it may be possible to turn off functions?

I feel I could do somthing if I could gain access to this but all the selections just time out after 30 secs with message "controller not responding", excuse quality of photo.

Strange..

You'd think that if the remote does open the boot that the module is communicating properly
