Polo 6R boot opening

Post by john2k »

Does anyone know how the boot opening mechanism works on the 6R? When I lift the vw logo to open the boot, is it an electronic sensor at that point that is supposed to trigger an unlock? Because my 6R really acts up when unlocking. Randomly it works and randomly it doesn’t

It's a microswitch.
A long time ago, there were a series of them that failed just as you mention. The best solution is to change it with a new updated one.

- 6R6827469B was replaced by 6R6827469D
- Although you can also install the one from the 6C if you like glossy black. 6C6827469F

There are quite a few available and original ones in the usual places of purchase.
