Can anyone shed light about what is involved with the latest software update VW 91MG?
I has the car (2023 GTi) in at the dealer today for its 1st service, although no one mentioned it at the return of the car, when I read the service report it stated that a recall campaign with the 91MG software update was installed. I asked the customer service representative for an explanation and they said it would in relation to the fuel economy, but Google says that it is in relation to the infotainment system and the issue with OTA updates

Re: Software update 91MG
Assuming 91MG is the same for the Polo as it is for the Golf, details at the link below. Nothing to do with fuel economy, so it would seem the service rep you spoke to didn’t know what it was for and was just winging it!
I’ve always understood a recall to relate to the rectification of a safety related issue. VW also tend to use the term recall for service campaigns which the 91MG update is.

Re: Software update 91MG
There was absolutely no mention of it when the keys were handed back, and it was the fact that I’d actually read the service notes before leaving site that I spotted it, so I’d done a quick google search on it sat in the car before I went back in, so I suspected that the agent was winging it.
When I searched the update the golf topic you linked to came up early on, hopefully any other group members will now be aware of it too
