Folding Mirrors Polo 6R BlueGT
Folding Mirrors Polo 6R BlueGT
Hello everyone,
Since this is my first post, let me introduce myself. I am Timo, live in the Netherlands and since dec 2023 i own a beautiful 2014 Polo 6R BlueGT.
I want to mod some stuff, and the first thing that i came across was the folding mirror option.
I have some questions regarding the current hardware in my car
I have the following article numbers:
J519:
BCM: 7H0 937 090 B
Subsystem 2 (J386)- 6R0 959 801 AT
Subsystem 3 (J387)- 6R0 959 802 BE
Are above mentioned pieces of hardware ready for folding mirrors? Saves some time looking on the internet for stuff.
Article numbers for the switch & replacement mirrors i already found.
I really hope someone can help me out with this.
Thanks in advance & enjoy the holidays!
have a great day!

Hi Ciclo,
So besides coding, its plug and play? Or still add some wires?
I guess, follow your guide in any case?
Thanks for your reply! Appreciate it!

Re: Folding Mirrors Polo 6R BlueGT
Hi, you have to add the 5 wires according to my guide.
The terminals you need are MQS male and female.
Coding for Start/Stop Models (LHD):
-J386... 0400A3
-J387... 1400A3
Use these.
The 6R BlueGT has great potential for upgrades, it is one of the best 6Rs for retrofitting.

Hi Ciclo,
Much thanks again for your answers.
Just wondering, do the 6C mirrors also fit on the body? And if so, what option numbers should i look out for?
Thanks in advance again

Hi ciclo,
Could you maybe help me out?
I already fitted the mirrors & installed all wires. sadly i didnt have the right window motors. The pins on the motor for the folding option were not present.
Could you maybe help out with the part numbers?
I cant seem to find any with all the required pins.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Folding Mirrors Polo 6R BlueGT
You are right, your WRMs have the necessary SW but they do not have the pins for 'AUTOMATIC'' folding mirrors.
These are the ones you should find (LHD):

There were people who installed other models belonging to the Beetle (PQ25), and perhaps the ones from the Transporter T6 (PQ25)
are also compatible as long as they meet the HW and SW conditions already mentioned.
PR code = 6XE --> ETKA =
viewtopic.php?p=466570#p466570
After these 2014-2015 references, there are other references indicated/ended (xxx D?-->etc) for the POLO 6R/6C with PR-code 6XE, which although they have the necessary pins do not have the SW for 'automatic' folding, they do the folding by the switch only (no automatic).
...the catastrophic effort with hidden and evil reasons by VW (6C monster) to screw up the lives of its beloved customers... revenge and bad decisions ends up turning against oneself...

Hi/hello all!
All of You have some great expert knowledge!! I have been a very long time reader of posts here. Hoping you can help without it being too much trouble please!
I am going to do the power fold upgrade for my 4 door 2016 polo Right Hand Drive and I have all the parts:
Control switch: 6C2959565A
Door Mirror driver: 6C2857508E
Door Mirror passenger: 6C2857507D
I am getting conflicting information about the WCM
‘s I have?
I have these ones:
WCM driver: 6R0 959 802 CE (s8620)
WCM passenger: 6R0 959 801 CB (s8620)
From my research these WCM have the software (s8620) so don’t need coding?
A big thank you for any 2 words of help you or anyone can give

I don't think these WRMs has the pins for auto fold mirror, they have the right software but they don't have the PR-6XE codeNinjaXP wrote: Sat Feb 08, 2025 11:57 am Hi/hello all!

Re: Folding Mirrors Polo 6R BlueGT
Thanks tinman! Don’t suppose you know the WCM numbers for right hand drive 4 door 2016 VW polo auto power folding?
My car currently has 6R0959802DK and 6R0959801DH.

Re: Folding Mirrors Polo 6R BlueGT
When I first saw this post, I was very disappointed because Ive just brought a secondhand auto fold mirrors, with all harness, switch and WRM, I was just looking at the pr-code 6XE, not realising you need the right firmware on the WRM for auto folding with remote (firmware is 0630).ciclo wrote: Tue Feb 04, 2025 2:39 am You are right, your WRMs have the necessary SW but they do not have the pins for 'AUTOMATIC'' folding mirrors.

Maybe 6C is different , since the electronic is quite a bit different to that of 6R. I was correct, it's unnecessary to have the 8xxx firmware on the WRM for autofolding from remote on the 6C Polo.
My new WRM 3 Doors RHD is
6R0959801DK and 6R0959802DM
I've only temporary test the autofold function as I want to add entry light to the mirror housing before install mirror on car.
I've added the necessary 3 wires to the existing harness for autofold mirror using the wires from the new wire harness, as it seem easier to strip the 3 wires from it instead install the new harness. After wiring, coding was done on OBDELEVEN
Centric Electrics Module 09 - Adaptation - Access Control 2
Funk Spiegelanklappen - Active
Menuesteuerung Funkspiegelanklappen - Active
Funk Spiegelanklappung Modus - by look command via remote
control key
The autofold mirror fold and unfold via switch
The mirror fold on lock on remote
The mirror unfold when key on ignition.

Re: Folding Mirrors Polo 6R BlueGT
Thank you very much for reporting on the particularities of the 6C, now we know that it is the BCM 6C that is responsible for managing the 'automatic' folding of the mirrors in its entirety.
It is not easy to know about the particular evolutions/updates, adaptations that the developers of these software/parts are 'inventing' over the years. It depends on the brain farts that they throw at which and at what time it is convenient to do it...
It is in the forums and the poor people who develop the diagnostic tools who have to fight/investigate about these simple things, even today it is even complex to know about the coding of the wide variety of these WRMs... and if we talk about the locks it is the same.
It is not surprising that all this information is attempted to be obtained by any means.
