No remote for locking

Post by frank 1093 »

Mor ning all

Recently purchased a 2014 polo without any remotes. Thought is was a basic S and then found out it was a trend.

Have a ODB11 for my 1018 passat and an older VCDS which may work with this car.

Any ideas of the best way to go, key fobs are of course easily obtained but programming may be expensive.

Thanks
Frank

Thanks for reply, not sure ODB11 will do a good autoscan, it is a bit basic! Will take a look at my VCDS when I have time.

It appears the Trend model is an entry level car and may not have remote locking. The door opening key gives a clue as it has a button to press activating a neon/led to light up the door key opening in the dark.
Taking out the interior in the next few days to clean it, going to take a look at the BCU at the same time, think it needs to be an 937086 or higher to support remote locking.

I do have another car with key operated central locking ............ it is a 40yr old Saab 900 turbo.

Will take a look when the seats are back in and battery connected, just on my second clean, always like leather in my cars cannot believe how much dirt cloth car seats can accumulate over time.
