wing mirror indicator still faulty after replacement

i had changed my wing mirror indicator after it had become faulty.
the replacement worked for a day or two then went back to being faulty like the first one.
is there anywhere else i can investigate as it sounds like the issue is not the indicator itself?

Could you give more information on the exact fault with the indicator unit as your description is rather vague ? What does or doesn’t it do

when i indicate on the right (faulty side), i get the abnormally fast ticking noise that you usually get when an indicator is faulty. The light blinks slow, is faint, and and sometimes does not illuminate at all.
This is happening with the original, and the replacement LED indicator.

Check ALL wiring in the door especially the connector in the shut , big one to the car .
Looking for loose pins ,green corrosion, broken wires.
Maybe in the mirror also ?

Good to know:
-Polo 6R (2009-2014). The turn signal indicators on the same side (Right or Left) are electrically connected (Front, Mirror, Rear), the wiring/single wire connects to a single point/terminal/pin on the BCM.
-Polo 6C (2014-2018). All turn signal indicators are independent. Each one connects independently to a different terminal/pin on the BCM.
If it's a 6R, check the condition of the connections for all three turn signal bulbs (Front, Mirror, Rear) on the side where the fault is occurring.

i have the polo 6C
from what i can see the connector have nor corrosion on them.
also, on further research its said this could also be the sign of a faulty bcm. could this also be the case?

Id definitely take the door panel off and use a multimeter to check all wires for the wing mirror

silly question.
Ive managed to find the relevant wires in the diagram for the drivers side indicator.
How would I multimeter test? would i connect one probe to the 28 pin connector side, and the other to the connection on wing mirror side?

i have tested the wires as per the diagram and a i get continuity.

UPDATE:
i had learnt that the cabling for the indicator runs via the motor unit behind the door panel, i decided to take a look there with a multimeter. i was able to get good amp and resistance readings on the motor.
i put the motor back and reattached the cables.
i tried the right side indicator again and i found the unit is now working as normal. also the other issue i was having (wipers activate when i turn the door handle knob to the heated wing mirror icon), i no longer there either.
hopefully this issue is now fixed.

Great!
If this happens again, thoroughly inspect the E43 connector (terminals, wire strands - separate the parts) or the mirror wiring (remove the fabric tape).

Related to the previous diagrams I posted.
