International designer makes fashions from Polo Fun interior fabrics
Wolfsburg, 12 October 2004– A lime-green hooded coat with matching skirt and jacket for the woman; trousers and hat for the trend-conscious man all feature a distinct design in a remarkable colour. However, what makes this modern example of haute couture really special is the fabric; it is none other than a luxury design seat cover from the Polo Fun, the nippy trendsetter from Volkswagen.
Individuality is in. The same rules that have always governed the world's catwalks apply to the Polo Fun too. The Polo Fun with offroad styling is a real eye-catcher thanks to high-quality aluminium elements, as well as its unusual interior and exterior colour schemes.
"Our young Polo Fun customers are passionate about fashion, so we were pleased to be able to support this innovative idea", explained Friederike Plock-Girmann, Head of "Colour and Trim" in Volkswagen Design. "Style and not just horsepower is a key criteria for car buyers all around the world. Fashion-conscious buyers are increasingly looking for the right combination of interior and exterior colours."
It makes for an interesting experiment, which fits a modern lifestyle and whets the appetite for more. The actual clothes, however, will remain a one-off; there are currently no plans for a collection.
The designer Oliver Kresse has been creating trendy women's fashions and stylish menswear in his own studio since 2001. His basic aim is for his customers to feel good all-round. International stars such as Morten Harket, front man of the Norwegian group a-ha, has relied on the skills of the young designer from Hamburg.
