9N - Electronic Window Problem

Post by sylonien »

Right today when I unplugged my amp like a few times and plugged it back in etc... the window started playing funny with me.

I dunno if this has anything to do with it, but I didn't unplug the car battery before removing the ground/positive lead on the amp.

But anyway, everything worked fine, sorted now and car working. But when I pressed the window with the right button, the left window went down and the left button made the right window go down.

What the hell?

I didn't touch any other electrical bits at all.

What can I do? Please help. :?

I had kind of the same problem the other day, my windows were sitting about half way and I hit both the passenger and driver side buttons to do up the windows (using one touch), they went up about 4" and then went back down to the place they were sitting at. The one touch operation stopped working after that but all seems fine now?
I have not got an Amp or anything connected to the battery, only an aftermarket sony headunit.

This may be an issue with the windows electrics?

Well actually mine sorted it self out the day after when I tried to use it again. I guess it just needs to "learn" it, quote from someone that I can't remember. :P

I posted the same thing a year a go, just a weird fault was the conclusion at the time. Happened to me a couple of times but hasn't happened since i posted it about a year or more ago.

As Aaron said, sorts it's self out when you switch the ignition off and then on again usually. :)

Must be a fault common to VW leccy windows.

I have had 3 golfs, and a Polo before my current 04 twist and had the same problem with each car.

Only occured once or twice and turning the ignition off for a bit and the back on cured it.......

Well i found shouting helped!!!!

I turned off the ignition, fiddled by pressing the buttons, in the hope that the harder i pressed, the stronger the message might get through to it!!!!

after a few on/offs of the ignition they reset which is how i see most poeple do it.........

LOL! :D I'm quite surprised how "buggy" the Polo's can be at times. I still like it though.

This happens on the Skoda Fabia's too...

I've not had it happen to mine though!
