Its a MK5 Golf Sat Nav/Radio ariel. I tired to wire it up using the old base connector but unfortunately after two attempts to wire it the reception was still very poor/non-existant.
I believe you need a Amplifier/Switch over box for it to work properly which is an extra £100 over the price of the ariel! So i'll be popping down to Audioscape in Ipswich tomorrow hopefully to get an internal ariel sorted, i'll be keeping the shark fin for show
Part no: 2K0 035 507 A
Price: £50-£70, depending on who you buy from.
You'd be suprised how much it changes the look of the car

Ahhhh now you are gonna get some questionssylonien wrote:That thing does look wicked but the price.
I have replaced my standard one with a shorter "b-sting" one from my local audio dealer for a fiver. Looks nice too in my opinion. Bog standard black, but matches my Diamond BLack.
- Got a make/manufacturer for that - All I can find is multicoloured Alloy ones and I WANT Black!!!!
- Can you post a pic?

Thanks Josh - I considered it but it's been mullered at some stage by previous owner driving in and out of a garage without raising the up and over door far enoughJosh_PoloGTi wrote:Bstard...
Why not just chop yours down?
Heat up the end cap, remove it.
Chop the antenna to the desired length.
Put end cap back on.
Job Done! Cost: Nothing!
