Well here it is, my new Polo 1.6 Comfortline fresh from the dealership - still wet from from the drive home.
Can't change to much on it though, as I only keep a car for a year or so. Extras: 15" Alloys with 195/55's and dash-mounted 6-disc cd-shuttle. Drives like an absolute dream. Had a Clio Privilege before this car, but it's not a patch on the Polo. Yeah I know there's another Clio parked next to my car, but it's not mine - will be exchanged for a new Megane (as soon as they are released here).
Can anyone make some suggestions on a grille I can install?!
I don't know about the grille, I'm looking for one myself, the only problem with the badgeless one that is available is that it shows the dip in the bonnet where the badge would be. It's ok on a black car but on the lighter ones it shows more.
Maybe you could buy a spare grille and paint it white!
Thanks for emailing them. Only ever seen one white 9n and that was a base model. The colour pack seems to make it look allot better though. Do you have the chrome dials?
But why a Megane?!? Though I gotta say they do look very nice!!
Thanx. Well none of our locals Polo's have chrome dials, which is sad. The model range is limited aswell - 1.4 (Base model, with black strips and door handles), then the 1.6 (fully colour coded), next is the 1.6 Comfortline (like I have) and following that the 1.4TDi. The 1.6 C/line and TDi are on par as far as specifications go, only difference is the engine and the TDi has fog lights. Options range is limited aswell - on my model the only options were: 15" Alloys, CD-shuttle, Navigation system and metalic paint. I opted for white, as South Africa is very hot in the summer...and here 75% of cars are of a light paint, where as I know that in Europe people tend to go for darker colours.

How many bhp has this 1.6 engine?
BTW, here in spain, chrome dials are standard
The cars us guys have in the UK are made in Spain. Should I complain to you for the bad quality on my car anyway??

Only joking.
You can complain... I know "made in spain" means "bad quality", but not always, luckly! I have to admit i went to the dealer much times now that i have a new polo than when i had my old, 2nd hand Polo But i have chrome dials! (Just kidding, don't get angry with me)
Petrified wrote:Shouldn't the 1.6 be top of the range then? 100bhp?
Here in Spain the top-of-the-range are the 1.4 16v 100bhp (MINE! ) and the 1.9 TDi 100bhp
By the way, how much max torque has this 1.6 engine? My Polo has a lousy 125Nm at 3.500 and it means it doesn't push you on the seat before 4000 rpm or so, and it is a bit frustrating, having to reduce gears each time The TDi is much better in this aspect, but i like my 16v's sound
