OMFG The japs are insane. . .
My mate is getting he Escort Cosworth (4wd) back this weekend, he sent it to the japs for them to go to town on it as they have been wanting to mess around with one for ages.. . . now im not sure exactly what theve done but i know theve changed all the pistons for those really accurate 'burn all the fuel in the chamber' ones haha (forgive my lack of knowledge about technical stuff)
Theve obviously changed a lot of other stuff too though. Its cost him around £7k for all the work, as it was a tester for them they didnt charge him for everything.
heres the silly part, they rolling road tested it and somehow managed to get 0-60 in 1.2 Seconds !!!
Now im sure on the road it wont do that, due to friction and drag etc, but like WTF !!!!
They estimated it at around 560bhp at first, but now there not sure, haha Hardly surprising ! im gonna get the details off me mate closer to the weekend, but suffice to say his wetting his knickers already at the mere thought of beating most motorbikes around lol
Gonna go out in it on Saturday too, might film the b***h whooping ass !

Yeah if that's what the readout said that's a mistake.toXXin wrote:You miss the 4 key and hit 1 by mistake?CalvinGTI wrote:heres the silly part, they rolling road tested it and somehow managed to get 0-60 in 1.2 Seconds !!!
I'd have thought 1.2 seconds 0-60 isn't possible without a jet engine.

yeah but with power like that you could probably get away with a 1st gear that tops 60 without much bother -- or at least, starting in 2nd, if you needed to keep a traffic/car park 1st!
there's some sports bikes (ducati 996?) that can almost hit 90 in 1st... like, wtf
0-60mph in 2.75sec (or 0-100kmh in 2.85s) would be 1G acceleration - i.e. if you can reach 60 in under 2.7 seconds, you've got both the power and the grip in your tyres to do a completely vertical climb.
(in fact, seeing as you'll likely be accelerating a little harder off the line than when you're nearing 60, anything that could do it in 3 to 3.5 seconds?)

haha i must be the biggest flid ever as u peeps have prob noticed i do typos all the time as i have to leave quick messages as im in work (Is there a spell check on this thing?)
i ment 2.2 seconds hahah but then thats with no drag etc again, so your prob looking around 3 seconds, which is still stoopidly quick
i dont even think the panasoic jet engine car could do it in 1.2 seconds !!!!
This is what the japs have told him they tested it as, now they may be overexagerating, to make it sound better im not sure, who kows. But ill will be seeing it Saturday
*droolz*
might have to have a quick go myself !
More coming.

Was this on rolling road or a dynopac? Because on a rolling if the road can't handle the power its quite eay to spin the wheels and get distorted figures. As we found out went my friend straped his 550bhp 200sx to a rolling road a while back. He got crazy figures. But this was only because the rear wheels lit up and shreaded his brand new dunlop DJ01's
Also the Norris evo managed a 2.69 sec 0-60 time and that has quite a bit more power

the only way you can get truly accurate figures is by strapping GPS equipment to your (Datron is pretty nifty - measuring more than you'll ever need, as well as being compatible with Windows )
