Snow chains or......

Hi all,
I'm lloking for a good compromise (snow chains or other stuff) to fit in my Polo!
I've got new Polo 2004 1.9TDi with 195/55r15" and probabbly the next tyres will be 195/50r15"....

The question's Konig snow chain 9mm, Autosock or... ?
Spikes Spider are too many expansive and the box's huge in my opinion...

Any1 know how many millimeters there's from ant. tyre to workings stuff?
Konig "snow chains" 9mm may cause any problem?

Try good winter tyres on steel wheels

I know some people who live up in the mountains in Germany and that's what they use on thier Merc's, Opel's, VW's.....

Yes, that's right!
But I don't live up in the montains... I live near the sea and I'll use them on the we when I'm going to play snowdord!
