OEM Sunroof Conversion!!

Post by Petrified »

Well, I had a bit of trouble with my car when I got it because I wanted a sunroof. They managed to convince me to have a non vw one retro fitted, I'm not sure how because I was pretty set in my ways! Anyway they got the car, registered it and then found out they couldnt fit one because there wasn't enough space!!

They would have been stuffed If I told them to get another car because it was already in my name so I got a lot of stuff from them for free.

However.

Speaking to a mate of a mate. Someone who works at VW we have found all the parts to be able to retro fit an OEM sunroof.

New Roof, Headline (is that right?) the sunroof, electronics etc...

The total of parts comes to around £1100 (that is if you buy them new) It would also need to be fitted by a VW approved garage for Warrenty AND Insurance purposes.

So there you go. If you want a sunroof it'll cost you around £2000+ for parts and fitting! It can be done.

Hmmmm

I don't want one that much.

Just incase anyone else was thinking of it (which I doubt you were!) I've saved you hours of time. lol.

James.
