Re: Clunking brakes 2016 GTI
I'll see if mine does this in a month or two when it turns up... However we had something similar on the gearbox of a Volvo V40 and were told that the noise would be there on any gearbox, however newer ones are lighter weight and thinner material so noises transmitted easier... Given my 2014 BlueGT ...

Re: "Switch off screen (in 10 seconds)" setting lost
This has been a standard 'feature' since the touchscreen units came out...my 2014 BlueGT is the same and after a few visits to VW for 'updates' I was told it is not supposed to remember this setting... Seems backwards to me, it should remember it...but apparently it won't and can't so it isn't a 'fa...

Re: Just ordered a polo gti
So long as the car they looked at for me today is one they can confirm, I've just jumped ship from the BlueGT I bought new in July 2014 to a new Polo GTi - some sort of promo weekend though I never believe that hype, basically they are selling cars that are in production but not yet accounted for o...

Re: Composition audio software update?
Does it now remember the 'Screen off after 10 seconds' thing? How do we check the version?

Re: Composition audio software update?
Fairy nuff, this wasn't how it was before the update...so whilst it is more stable than before, it still isn't as good as it should be.

Re: Composition audio software update?
I had the software update done on the radio at the recent service...whilst it seems a little better it still won't retain the 'Turn off screen' setting and often the front speakers don't sound until 4-5 seconds after the rears when you first start the car. Occasionally it still does a full boot on i...

Re: BlueGT Drivers, what kind of mileage are you getting?
A little update a year in...I'm seeing 49.* mpg average after 12,000 miles sitting on the same a-road 5 days a week. If I don't get silly overtaking and enjoying the power it edges up towards 50 but I can't be that nice to the car all the time, it's too much fun! Overall, 49mpg out of a car like thi...

Re: Silver or Anthracite?
The anthracite colour is high gloss and nowhere near as dark as I've seen other 'anthracite' wheels done, I got mine in this colour mainly to hide a little of the brake dust between cleans, but overall it is a great colour - not too dark and not too bright :) Am I right in remembering you got the b...

Re: BlueGT Drivers, what kind of mileage are you getting?
My average after just over 5000 miles is a shade under 50mpg. My driving is 99% a-road sitting between 50 and 60mph, so I think I'm in the sweet spot. Motorway at 70mph is not too bad but if you like to drive a little faster then you'll see 40-ish instead of close to 50. On a good run I've seen 60+m...

More efficient my rear, they add no noticeable performance and do nothing but allow more muck into the engine....not good.

Re: How to turn on heated door mirrors?
Ah so you turn the heated side mirrors by turning the adjuster dial to the heated symbol, makes sense!
