Re: Drivers side knocking front suspension
Had a chance to look at the knocking and it seems to be transmitting through both of the track control arms. One of which I have replaced but when you hold onto the rod and someone moves the steering wheel slightly, you can feel play. Could this be rectified by adjusting the steering rack preload? I...

Drivers side knocking front suspension
Hi All This is driving me nuts. I have a subtle knock coming from the drivers side (RHD) and its only there when the suspension is floating. When I say floating I mean, it wont make the knock when going over bumps or dropping, its when the road surface is slightly uneven and feels loose. I replaced ...

Re: Gearstick linkages
OK, I have played around a little more and have all gears but having problems with 2nd gear which I didn't have before today.
Which cable do I need to lengthen or shorten, the one nearest the wing or the engine?
Any help appreciated

On the gearbox end, on the arm, I do not have a 90 degree to lock the lever arm. Its not snapped off,...

Re: Intermittent rear wiper
OK, have been out to the car this morning with a view to lubricating the spindle, checking the wiper arm was not loose and also that a new arm is not causing a load on the motor by the drag. I have pulled the arm away from the glass so there is no load and this is what it does https://youtu.be/7Ofqj...

Re: Intermittent rear wiper
I have now checked and the wiper arm is not loose on the spindle :( I understand there isn't a separate relay. The front wipers are fine and so is the intermittent setting The problem I have on the rear is that the arm moves almost halfway across teh rear screen, then pauses for say 20 seconds then ...

Intermittent rear wiper
My rear wiper does not do a complete wipe, it goes so far, stops then suddenly start and keeps repeating this until it gets to it’s original position.
Is this a relay or cut out under load?
Any help appreciated
Cheers

Gearstick bush or linkage
Now and then 1st gear is notchy but gears don’t grate, just feels on occasions that there is a restriction.
New clutch so ruling that out so thinking linkages.
Dues a 2004/5 have a bush at the based of the gearstick or does the top of gearbox have to come off and cables?
Either way, easy job?

Offside front knock
I have not had a chance yet to take the wheel off but I have an annoying knock when going over uneven surface but is fine over bumps. Its there when braking so have ruled out brake issues. The only clue I have is after moving forwards on occasions, if I reverse back gently, I can feel and knock near...
