Re: How many pre WLTP Polo GTIs in the UK.

How do I confirm whether my polo GTI plus is a pre-wltp? My car was registered on June 2018 and I have had a look under the vehicle and all I can see is a resinator. Yours is pre WLTP Pretty much any car registered in 2018 is pre WLTP as there was a gap between production of pre and post WLTP Polo ...

Re: Ceramic coating

You can pay as much as you want for paint protection, and detailing. Personally I had a local mobile valet chap apply ceramic protection for a fraction of that cost and was more than happy with the result.

Re: Pre-crash preventive occupant protection

Is there anything else to the system, like pre-tensioning seat belts? Yes. The seatbelt tensioning is part of the system so there maybe some hardware associated with this. The VW price guide describes it as: “PreCrash preventive occupant protection. Tensioning of the front seat belts, closing of el...

Has anyone got this on their car, and is it useful ?
I added it to the spec. on my car. I guess it’s only useful in a pre-crash situation. Thankfully I’ve never needed it. I don’t know if it can be enabled retrospectively though.

Re: Is it feasible to use a Polo GTI+ on a 70 mile daily commute?

Today’s commute, mostly motorway, M4 restricted to 50mph, some stop start traffic, some free flowing motorway. Journey could be done in just over an hour if there was no traffic.

Re: Apple CarPlay issues on GTI+

Has anyone else got issues with their Apple CarPlay on the GTI/GTI+? I plug my phone in and sometimes the whole screen will be black, 10 minutes later and Apple CarPlay appears. Then when I'm driving and go over a bump, my phone disconnects. I've tried two different cables and both ports, same issu...

Re: Ride quality & Road roar?

I use my GTI as a daily driver predominantly doing a 20k / year motorway commute, and find it fine. Inspected the 17s as I felt these may be a little less harsh ride wise but I haven’t seen anyone suggest this is true so if I was specking now would probably go for the Brescia wheels. I did have a Po...

Re: Heater Fan only works when set to 4

Sooooo with a bit of Googling, it seems that this is a relatively common issue on VAG cars with the likely culprit the Blower / Heater motor resistor with the reason it works on the highest speed being that said resistor is effectively bypassed when the fan is set to 4. As the car is 18 Months old, ...

Heater Fan only works when set to 4

Any ideas why this could be happening? Heater fan doesn’t operate at all unless it’s set to max speed ‘4’?

Re: trip on AID

It's your trip mileage.. It's synced with main odometer from new, so if you never reset it, it will count up with the main mileage up to 9999 and then back to 0 every 10K KM/Miles. To use it's intended functionality, scroll down the Driving Data using the up and down arrows on the right hand side of...
