they may have tried to check but I was on a large grey warship 6000 miles away in the middle of the Indian Ocean. To be honest I would not have known any better and would probably have told them to carry on anyway. That's the problem, I'm not in a position to argue when it comes to cars.

Have I been had?

Just had my GTi serviced at the VW dealership in Sheffield, she needed her 40k as well as finally getting round to the pedal box being replaced (which was done for free).

She'd developed a bit of a funny squeak going round corners or over bumps so I asked my brother (who took her in) to ask the ...

Metal Magic?

Hiya,

I've got the same problem most people seem to have with a funny, white, corrsion on the rims of my alloys. I phoned up a company called metal magic in Barnsley (i think, though they might be in sheffield) and they assured me they could cleam them up for £33 a wheel. This sounds like a really ...

Hiya,

I have exactly the same problem. Every time I start her up and put her in reverse to back out of the driveway there is a slight snap from one of the wheels. I haven't been able to tell which one but it feels like one of the back two..... almost as if one of them is sticking slightly before it ...

Prising off my 'POLO'

Hiya all,

I've seen a few Polos that have removed the polo lettering from the top left hand part of the boot door and spread the letters out below the VW badge and above the boot handle. I just thought this looked very cool and wanted to give it a try myself.....

Can anyone tell me the best way to ...

Picked mine up!

Managed to pick up my Gti late last week but have just come back from holiday and so didn't have a chance to post on the site (or drive my brand new toy) for the last few days.

GTi girl is right, the black really shows the dirt, mine needs cleaning again already depsite only having done a few miles ...

Just a quick question... if it hasn't had the pedal box done does anyone know how much this costs? A rough figure would be handy to give me something as leverage if I want to talk the price down.....

Thanks in advance

Thanks for all the advice guys - much appreciated, I'll check it over thoroughly before I hand over any hard-earned money! It's actually a private sale (not through a dealership) so I'll be careful as I haven't much in the way of comeback if I buy a real lemon.

Hope to be a regular on here and to ...

Another new owner!

Hiya all,

There seem to be lots of new owners popping up all the time on here.... I'm another one so thought I'd say hello!

My name's Matt and I actually pick my Polo GTi up tomorrow. It's a black 5dr with 35k on the clock and I'm getting her for £6600. Is this a good deal? It seemed pretty fair ...
