Another niggle with my gti

Having only recently bought the car from my brother I'm finding more and more niggles as time goes on. Next one is the boot light, should it have one (mine doesn't apppear to have one)? Hi. I've had my 6n2 polo for about 6 months now, and have recently noticed a distant whirring sound when i go above around 40mph, and gets louder when i disengage the clutch. I'm slightly concerned as to what this is, hoping it's not a busted wheel bearing. My mate thinks it could be th alternator,...

6n2gti alarm siren location

Another one from me I'm afraid guys but it should be easy.

Where's the alarm siren ( not twin horns) located, mine needs reconnecting but I've no idea where to look!!

You'll need to set the multimeter to its highest ohm setting, and if broken, one of the contacts when tested should show a 1 instead of 0.something which will confirm a break in the circuit

so this isnt an ecu fault (im use to rover systems which work differently) and a new fan will definately fix this?

seeing the other similar thread got me thinking, my fan only ever runs at full speed when the car is starting to get very warm. it never runs slowly and never runs when the aircon compressor is on unless the engine is getting hot. its my understanding that with the compressor running the fan should ...
