Faultly aircon

Post by smokeGTI »

I went for a quick shopping today with a/c on,
I park the car and switch off the A/C button while tunning of the engine.

When I pick up the car ten minutes later, switch on the engine>switch
on A/C,then there's only warm air even after a minute or so.
So I kept switch the A/C button on/off few times, still nothing.

Then I give the car a little higher rev for few seconds, then switch
on the A/C again, engaged...cool air is back!

I'm sure the radiator fan is working fine, but after that, the A/C seems working
fine for another ride. Just don't wanna ignore the problem before it's too late.
You know the compressor unit is quite costy item.

Any input for what to look for?

Well, after few hours test, finally got the answer....

I found that the radiator fan stop working sometimes.
But just not long enough to overheat.

This is the second unit already,
the car done total 39000km on the clock only!
man, how much more money we gonna spending on that damn fan??
They should revise this part.

maybe there's a temperature switch thats faulty, or a poor connection / dodgy wire somewhere?

Sure it's the fan motor, it starts to run again when give it a slam.
