if you nip across the pennines to matlock and the like, north of nottingham, theres also some corking hills to charge up, and it'll feel like youre flying even though you won't have hit 70 by the top... :D plus the roads are all nicely "wide" (ie two cars can pass ) and do up-down-left-right rollercoastering.

just dont get lost, because before you know it, you're in Leeds.

What's wrong with going round a blind corner at 100mph?

Seriously I'm well aware of my driving limitations, I went for a drive round Beeston and there were too many cars about to do anything serious. The most fun I've had have been round the local roads that I know really well.

It was funny earlier coz I went fuel up at the shell garage, put £20.00 in and then went pay,

Me: Number 4 mate
Guy looks across at the gti "Eh 4? You sure?
Me: "Yeah!"

Guess it's coz I'm 24 but look younger!

Computer says I've been averaging 30mpg! 8)

LOL, I went to the petrol station 4 times in 4 days!

The GTI has gone back now, I got back in my polo and it feels so weird, the clutch is too light and the engine sounds like a lawnmower!

A few days back with my polo and all is good again lol!

The golf had a more comfortable driving position and felt really easy to drive and the performance was amazing, I don't miss the fuel consumption though! It's funny there were quite a few things that annoyed me after a while, I thought the cd/radio wasn't as good as my polo and the brakes were poor. It had a couple of minor rattles and a boomy speaker near my head.

For a £20k+ car with 1500 miles on it's not good. Don't get me wrong though if I could I would buy one tomorrow.

hmmm thats interesting! poor brakes? and the stereo, i tested a GTTdi mk4 golf and the stereo was crap compared to my polo and leon! and my ibiza!!
i'd own one 2moz aswell, as long as i didn't have to pay for the fuel!!

I was suprised with the brakes, in my polo you don't have to press them that hard and you stop really quickly. The gti was more progressive and found myself a couple of times really stamping on them, probably something to do with my excessive speed and a heavier car!

:?

I got a cheque for the total fuel costs. £90.00  8)

wow £90 for 4 days eh? how many miles roughly?
i expect that after a week or so more of driving the gti then u'd be much more used to its brakes!

Was roughly 600 miles I think!

I drove absolutely everywhere to get the most out of it, and to pose lol!

Anyway saving up for one now, or maybe it should go towards a house!
