Hi,
I disconnected the passenger airbag from my Polo so that I could have my little son's child seat at the front (obviously the airbag light was on all the time). I am now selling the car, and I have reconnected the air bag, but the light does not go off.
Does anyone have any idea how I can sort this out?
Thank you.
AIRBAG LIGHT
yes any vw specialist should have this, VW charge £35+vat i think for this if not more, i paid £15 from a specialist and he cleared my light, but i actually have a fault, AIRBAG IGNITOR CONTACT RESISTANCE TOO LARGE... what does that mean though, on haynes it shows this contact being behind the steering wheeel but is very unclear, if resistance too large then means the contact is crap or dirty, might not be a faulty ignitor...
just search for vw specialists in ur area.. i went to LIONS GARAGE.. think they hav 2 or 3 branches in UK

@' suby786', the same thing happened to me a few months ago, the resistance was too high and so the light stayed on after ignition. my problem was due to a small crack in the ignitor ring behind the steering wheel, luckily a mate of mine worked for seat at the time and so he was able to order one with a big discount, iirc it still cost over £100 though.
the airbag system in it self will work the same as normal and wont go off unexpectedly, but i had to change mine as it happened just before my mot was due.
