what 40mm lowering kit?
what 40mm lowering kit?
which kit would ppl recomend, i am looking at the full springs and shocks kit. any ideas?
If your original dampers are in good nick, then you could match them with Eibach Sportline springs as some others have done on the forum. This is the path I intend to take (unless I come into some money before then and buy coilies) and will match the springs to my existing OE dampers, as long as they are in good condition...
I don't actually know of a shocks and springs kit for the GTi, most go for springs alone or full-on coilovers! Try shopping around the usual suspects, R&A Design, Awesome, JBS, Tuningwerkes?
Cheers

Found some springs and dampers you might like incidentally, Awesome GTI are offering a Koni kit for the Polo which will fit the GTi:

Koni Sport Adjustable Suspension Kits
KONI serves sporting drivers with a carefully designed range of sport shock absorbers and suspension kits with lowering springs. This line focuses on exceptional road-holding and handling properties, combined with an acceptable level of comfort.
These kits will give the car absolutely superb road-holding qualities and the looks of a real sports car. With lowering springs the centre of gravity of the car is lowered. Combined with a firmer suspension this will result in even better steering qualities and reduced body movement.
# KONI's product range offers you complete suspension kits consisting of matching springs and dampers. Of course, the lowering is limited to such an extent that the car will still remain suitable for normal street use. Kit contains 4 Adjustable SPORTS shock absorbers
# Most Shock Absorbers are Top Adjustable
# Perfectly matched Lowered coil spring Kit to ensure superb handling
# Lowers up to 35mm depending on the model
# FREE Bump Stop Kit included
# LIFETIME WARRANTY

I've had my Sportlines for over a year and a half now and I'm pleased with them although I've kept the original shocks and because of this I believe they are on their way out...
Nice handling although can be harsh at times but then you can't really have both the comfort and the handling, you are going to have to sacrifice one or the other!
