You tried to point out that Sports seats were not standard on the SE (tell us something we don't know). But we were trying to point out if they were standard WITH leather, which I have now confirmed with VW as being the case. So what was the point of giving the standard spec?

Guys, seriously.

Calm down!

(WWIII's about to start - there's more important stuff out there to worry about).

Peace, love and let the karma flow,

Deek.

Did a bit of adding up today, it'd cost me just over £700 to buy a original leather interior for a Polo, then £50 to a friend to fit it for me, shame I've only got an S (and a 55bhp one at that) you also need to have to have heated front Sports seats

Neil

Also, has anyone thought putting the blue/red Colour Concept gear lever gaiter on a Sport with the Anthracite blue/red interior? Just thought that'd be quite a nice mod. :P
this was the original post what do the last few have to do with the questions posed in it?

ok then so as i see it this thread has progressed from simply asking if anyone has a specific trim leval in their polo, to a full on war as to wheather the head rests come complete or just as a cover (i will post my opinion in the next post) i would like to remind everyone that uk-polos.net is here as a place to meet like minded people and exchange ideas and experiance. please try and keep the bickering to the private messages as we dont want to turn this post into a lockfest now do we? so can we all at least try and be nice to each other.
im not saying that anyone is right or wrong all i am saying is that we should not fight among our mists we are here to enjoy
so please dont make us moderators take this thread out of your countrol as this forum is only what you make it.
remeber that no one on here is supirior to anyone else
im not flaming anyone here and i dont want this to be taken as a personal atack on anyone
thank you for reading this

now for my opinion on topic
i dont personally have leather but sometimes it it would be a nice touch but i can live without it
now just to try and put an end to all the nit picking on the subject (all he asked was if you had it, not how it came) i can see some pieces coming complete but not others; would it be viable for your local dealership to discharge the lateral airbacgs (standard procedure for removing any item of the 'suplimantary restraint system') just so they can change a complete seat that is still good (costing the customer more) or would you rather that the cover is changed thus saving you money.
and just so you get some idea of the kind of money they save you by not having to replace an entire seat a steering wheel airbag costs the fat end of £500 not installed (after this the module must be reset)
if were not talking aboput seats with lateral air bags im sure the price of the seat filling and base isnt very appealing.
and yes to bak up a previous statement quite a few parts do arrive in composite form purly for shipping purposes or due to them coming from different manufactures.
if it botheres you all that much cant you wait till monday morning to ask the parts dept if they come ready assembled or not (i think id feel daft asking that really)

Polo2k :

Wether or not the seats come complete or in a kit of parts, doesn't bother me in any way. Speaking to the dealer today pretty much comfirmed what has been said, depending on what bits you want, it either comes complete or just tho cover. So yes ok, i was incorrect.

What does bother me is being mis-quoted, and having complete sections of my post's ignored, just because they get in the way of a personal rant.
I won't repeat it, there is no point. I just find it objectionable.

To get back on track, Nelson wrote this at the beginnning of this topic:
Nelson_Wilbury wrote:When you specify leather interior you also get Sports seats, I only have an 'S' model so the leather covers wouldn't fit.
Now, i am only trying to help the guy, but try as i might i can't get him to read the words inside the red marker. shown again below.

Now Nelson, (correct me if i am wrong) He has the standard type seats in his Polo but has been given the impression that he needs sports seats to enable a retrofit to leather.

If anyone would care to read the bit inside the red marker you will note that there is no mention of sports seats.

There is a reason for that. Which the Dealer confirmed today :
"If you buy the leather option on an SE you get STANDARD seats, leather upholstered."
"If you buy the Leather option on the Sport you get Sport seats, leather upholstered."
"If you want leather sports seats in an SE you HAVE to buy the Colour concept pack."
So basically Nelson, you can have the leather in your car, without having sports seats. You just look up the leather parts for the SE trim.

Personally i can't tell (visually anyways) the difference between std and sports. But the sports seat is a lot firmer.

The point was to prove to you that you can get std leather seats & sports leather seats. The first picture wasn't the important one, it was the second picture i wanted you to pay close attention to. But instead you chose to flame me

I suppose i will have to be more choosy in my replies to you in future.
Anyway, enough of all this crap, Ive got some sleeping to do.

While we're on the subject of flaming, this of course isn't the slightest bit flaming:

"So your telling me that if i went into VW and ordered a Leather headrest, all i would get is the leather & not the headrest??? Don't be so stupid. Maybe your getting confused with the kind of seat covers that you can get from Halfords? With the elasticated back?"

The only thing I ignored was this, because it wasn't of much relevance:

"So i was correct. You cannot get Sports leather seats in the SE Trim.

You can get the Colour Concept Pack. That comes with Sports leather seats, but as it costs £2095.00 for just the 3 door version, i would expect Sports seats if i was stupid enough to pay that price for what amounts to some fancy colour inserts."

Personally, I only use the price list for that, prices. The descriptions on the options list is EXTREMELY vague and usually inaccurate anyway.

I don't mind you replying on my threads!! But perhaps a less 'forceful' posting manner will improve things. No offence but you seem to make sarcastic comments on every other thread you post on, it seems to make posting on some threads uncomfortable.

By the way, I did speak to the VW hotline and they confirmed that you DO get sports seats. Perhaps we shall agree to disagree on this one until we do see one

Nelson. Maybe this place would interest you: http://www.trimtechnik.net

I had them send me a quote for all seats & headrests, in black leather. Below is the reply:
Paul

Thanks for your enquiry we would be happy to source a kit for you. We
require that you fill in one of our order forms comprehensively, to ensure
that all the details about this vehicle are accurate. The price for this kit
would £590.00 + £14.50 Carriage fee ( +vat ).
Once your order has been placed you could expect to receive your order in
roughly 10 working days.
Please don't hesitate to call me on 0870 780 2100 to discuss this. I look
forward to speaking to you.

Regards

Claire.
