Hello everyone - thanks for your replies so far.

If you have a 9N (or 9A?? per vwpower) and haven't yet submitted your details, now is the time to do so!!

I'll let this run for a few more days and summarise everything sometime next week.

Again, thanks for your input so far.

Mine is a Spainish car, as if you couldn't tell

Believe it or not, the Polo has already had a minor facelift. Things I have noticed, though there is probably much more...

* Rear Aero Wiper (and motor)
* Different Front wings (not sure whats different about them though)
* Steering wheel badge is now Black instead of blue (I prefer the blue though)

Theres much more, I made a list off etka but lost it

My car starts 9BW as it was made in Brazil.

They say the cars had their early problems fixed for the Brazilian release which took place six months after the German one, but my car was a bit rattly too! :x

Never got to the bottom of this...

But the peeps across at uk-mkivs are discussing it again.

Might be worth checking out the link:

Judging by this, here's where most of our (european ones anyway) cars were born:

Mine is from Bratislava,

There are two things I noticed...

With LHD it seems as if the cars are more likely to come from Spain if they are more expensive (e.g. Leather seats, Alarm, etc.)
But maybe thats different with RHD cars (all from Spain?)

I also got the impression that Spanish Polos are more likely to have Problems but Slovakian Polos are more likely to have engines that have a higher Petrol consumption... But that's of course not representative...
(Something similar was also discussed here
http://translate.google.com/translate?u ... uage_tools
)

The Spanish factory produced Polos first (as far as I know), so maybe Bratislava got "improved", newer machines...

This might be of interest to people.

I was at the AA College in Nottingham this week on an Audi technical course. There was a line of 30 unregistered VW's (Passats, Polos, Sharans etc) and while browsing the Polos chassis numbers I noticed the chassis number on a blue 1.2 65bhp S was WVWZZZ9NZD******

Now whats interesting is this is listed as Bratislava in Slovakia, this is the first non-Spainish 9n I have EVER seen. I was gonna ask the techinicians about the origins of this car but thought they'd know less than I did!

I didn't even know they made 9n's there, isn't that where they make *cough*Skodas*cough*? :?

*edit* Doh, just read the above post! But memm, isn't your car imported?

Interesting,

When I was at my local Skoda dealer a couple of weeks back (checking out the vRS Fabia, of course 8) ), he mentioned that the Sharran/Galaxy/whatwastheseatversioncalled? thingies had their production moved away from the Pamplona(sp?) plant because the quality problems were so bad.

But then, he was trying to sell me a Skoda at the time...

btw, Nelson, where abouts in Nottingham is the audi college - the ford one is about 5 mins from my house!

(well, I had to park up to show them how it's done -- the ford college is in the background)

Hi all,

about Sharan/Galaxy/Alhambra :) production, it takes place in Palmela, Portugal in a joint-venture factory called Auto Europa.

It's always been there and still is AFAIK.
