Performance inlet manifold....would this interest any of you

Post by psycho sport »

I m thinking of designing and making a performance inlet manifold for the 1.6 16v gti engine, just wana gauge interest as to who would be interested in one if the gains were good enough?

It would only be made if the gains on the prototype were over 10bhp.
The results obviously depend greatly on how much restriction the inlet system has on the engine.

Experiece sod all....
Knowledge, enough to know what needs to be done to achieve results.
I have a couple of people that will be making the actual inlet manifold and they both are very experienced with making inlets etc.

To be honest it may not work but if it does i ll let the results do the talking!

Want to keep price under £500 if possible and wont be making the manifold unless it makes at least 10bhp. But thats all estimates to be honest!

Interesting

But would the manifold be more suited to say a tuned GTi rather that a standard one??

Well it would be ideally suited to a gti thats running uprated exhaust manifold and performance exhasut sytem.
Even better would be to get it remapped to get the best benefits.

But all depends on how able my little scheme is to take off!
Could flop badly!
