My reasoning being that it's the 'i' of 'GTi', which made more sense than having a '1'.
Steve
The "dot" seems too big though... don't you think?

Yeah definately a '1'.
The material is a bit of a bugger to keep looking clean. Same with red door cards.

Pretty sure they're exactly the same, Ben (Polopowah) has GTi seats in his MK5
And it's deffinately 100% a 1

better in the way that the seats hug you in more, not sure on the size differences if there are any

If someone could come up with a good reason for it, I might be inclined to believe you

Well one reason is probably that in the Polo range, the GTi is No1 as there isn't another model MK5 higher up in the range.
Another reason as somebody has already stated

There's 2

But it's there in the picture, that's all the evidence you need.
The only way to get closure is to ask the VW interior designers that made it.

well, i have seen that design on a MK3 golf GTI interior, and i am pretty sure that the MK1 golf had a 'number 1' theme going on.
The only reason i can think of is that VW wanted to continue the theme in the first polo GTI??
That's my opinion on the subject, i could be wrong?
