Haven't got stereo, late spec rears or clear fronts yet!

Spankin' new grille badge coming soon though. Along with headlight adjusters and switch, leccy window switch and rear seatbelt guides.

There's wads more coming, but there's no point mentioning till they're done

Few more updates

Charger has been sent to PSD for rebuild and upgrade to full blend. Should get it back next week I presume. In the mean time a lot of tidying up in and around the engine bay have been getting done.

Thanks to Mr Kelly for the spankingly mint front G40 badge. And big thanks to Iain for the free passenger side arch trim! Woop

Image

Image

Also put on red bumper tape.

And yes I know the 'P' is missing from the rear badge, hahah

Got some late spec rear lights for next to nothing at scrapper (also got some German late spec lights coming sometime soon as well)

Image

Wire brushed, rubbed down and then sprayed up fan cowling and motor housing

Image

Been brushing up some bolts and spraying others for various areas

Image

Cleaning and blacking up pipework for charger

Image

Been doing the same kinda thing in engine bay

Image

Rubbed down and sprayed charger dome

Image

Was polishing a bonnet latch up for a while, decided to de-grease it and spray it gloss black. The back side is just lashed in copper grease

Image

Got late spec rear seatbelt guides

Image

However... the arch I got a little while ago flew off on the dualler and subsequently I need another! So gimme a shout if you've got one spare!

Image

Oh, and I've got headlight height adjusters and switches coming along with leccy window switch (but just the switch at the moment, haha) and also some clear front indicators!

She's coming together nicely

Been busy doing some bodywork recently. Keep in mind it's all just to make the car look a lot better and stop the rust till it's all sorted out next year with a respray

Arch and bottom of the boot have been topcoated. Currently putting filer on the bad bit on the rear quarter and priming some other parts around the car

Image

The light has caught the arch here making it look like a different white - but it is the same

All the wiper arms done in matte black

Image

Image

Some more tidying in the engine bay

But the best bit of all.. I get my 'charger back tomorrow!!! WOOP!!!

car is looking much better mate! keep up the good work! your doing some of the little jobs that makes such an improvment that i should really do!

the wiper arms, they got some kind of, is it plastic coating, on them. did you remove it all before you sprayed them? i was going to get new arms but as a quick fix, spraying might be worth while!

Cheers man

Nah, I just sanded them down till smooth and all the little imperfections were gone. De-greased and then sprayed a few times.

I considered new arms at one point, about £9 each, but spraying them has worked out nicely

Well. Turns out I had a boost leak before I sent my charger away! I was only putting out 90bhp. Found the boost leak (pipe from main boost line to BRV wasn't connected) but couldn't take her out for a spin as the charger was with PSD!

So I'm gonna scare myself when I give it some welly after it's run in I'm sure. 30-40bhp jump from last time I drove it here we come!

it raises a little smile seeing someone taking the time to put all those little touches in (sorting out all the rust patches etc) that i personally never find a moment to fit in

with such skilled care and attention to detail it should run on a long time yet! think it'll be around for the 20th anniversary?

Well. More progress today!

'Charger arrived back from PSD today, woop! Tav came round and gave a helping hand - much appreciated. Had it done in no time 8-)

"Running in" in progress! Am checking everything every time I stop too just to be safe. Feels a million times better already though!

Charger fitted!

Tav tempted to resort to somewhat harsher methods

Image

Ghetto body repair at it's finest

Image

Back end all fixed and sprayed up for now!

You've done an amazing job on it - well done!

You got a pulley for it? I have a 68mm one in my garage that I never got round to fitting on my Rado. If it fits and you're interested, make me an offer! :)

it's the speed that's most impressing me.... i'd be pressed to get a tyre changed in the time this has taken so far :D

liking your friend's style though - not only has the bugger stolen my torque wrench but he's using it in exactly the right manner

try not to blow the charger now
