Of course the car will stop quicker if the disks are bigger. It makes less work for the calipers, simple common sense will tell you that.
Also the very same reason it will reduce brake fade, and improve feel.

Im talking about bigger discs in general, it's all about the calipers having more leverage over the turning mass of the wheels.
Take a really tight nut for example, if you use a long spanner it will take less force to undo the nut.
This means with bigger discs your more likely to lock up on braking, but actually the faster your travelling means the less likely your wheels are to lock up.

lol they are turning the same RPM as the wheels and your hubs mate!
280mm brakes will help out more on a track, but only after the GTI brakes have over heated, and it wouldn't be much longer until the 280mm brakes did the same

Meant to say that there is more material spinning inbetween the pads, meaning there is more time between the same area of the disk being in contact with the pads.
Doesnt matter they still have more leverage, you dont have to stamp on the brakes as hard to get the same bite.Tigz wrote:Also to add.
