I'll get flamed for this, but the ride height is a little too low for my own liking, but I can't deny it looks damn fine !

Enjoy and keep up the good work.

Looking good mate. In my opinion that is the perfect ride height to maintain a good balance between being low and practicality :D

Let me know if you have any probs before Wednesday Si...my car is going in for wheel alignment and camber and I may just get them to adjust it to 60mm ;) Your car is looking really good, it makes such a difference

Only two issues at the moment:

First is that the steering wheel is no longer centred when the car is driven in a straight line, Tracking and alignment should sort that out 'cos it was perfect beforehand. Will do it Monday/Tuesday.

Second issue is that the front springs *pop* sometimes when approaching full lock at low speeds, like when I pull off the driveway at home. I think its something to do with the springs turning and there have been several posts about it but I can't find them even with the help of the (usually superb) search function :?

Tracking and alignment should definately sort that out and as for the springs making a noise....thjat is something you have to learn to live with!It is worse at times than others but after a while you'll have tuned your brain into ignoring the noise.

Glad your liking the new ride though, just wait for the first time your front splitter grazes a kurb or somet though. Doesn't half make you glad that its only black plastic! :)

And this is exactly the reason why it will never be painted black and/or smoothed into the bumper

looks great Si!! huge improvement :D

my coilovers used to make a clunk sorta noise but only after i put the car up at the front to get the Keskins on! its apparently the springs moving when the wheels turn!
i used to get it when i moved off the drive mainly aswell!
it stopped when i put the front back down to around 70mm!

the only problems i get now are the hole in my arches and the fact that something is squeaking and this mainly happens when it is wet weather! it happens when the car rocks/jolts (ie- moving off, stopping and changing gear) and sounds like rubber?? but i'm not sure!

My 9N does this noise when doing three point turns or going close to full lock such as when parking e.t.c. 9N fronts are pretty much the same as 6N2 ones, even the top mounts are the same part nos!

I was told that the shocks and piston have a little play hence why the spring moves unsmoothly causing this. There is a cap where the piston comes out from from the shock and this was loose. It was tightened and it was fine no noise. Started again two months later but this cap is still tight.

Therefore, I've put it down as being normal now! :? However, I've been told there is some coil rubbers available to buy, that wraps onto the coils of the spring and supposidly dampens the noise...Im still looking into where you can get these from.

Cant wait to see it in the flesh again, and you know i'm getting the same "popping" noise from the springs, im guessing it is something to live with unfortunatly...i've had the whole o/s front suspension looked at when i first heard it and nothing could be done!

And Mat is correct....it doesnt half make you cringe when you scrape the splitter, nearly crunched mine into the kerb when parking the other day

Time to find out how low she is sitting now:

Standard suspension: 34.5cm (Front), 33.5cm (Rear). Measured with a full set of coilovers in the boot.

FK coilovers: 29.5cm (Front), 28.5cm (Rear). Measured with the complete standard suspension in the boot.

These (approximate) measurements would suggest the car is lowered 50mm on the front and rear  (it looks lower!!). This also suggests that Chris, your kit from eBay wasn't the 80/80 kit after all

Both sets of measurements were taken from the arch to the centre point of the wheel centre cap.

EDIT: edited to add picture ;)
