DIY Steering wheel...

Post by aussiepolo »

This is a pic of my first attempt to do the steering wheel myself after seeing it in the Polo Fun pics. I have since redone it and cut the shapes a bit nicer (no more bubbles and scratches). If you're interested I can take a better pic of it and upload some cutting templates (print on the back of adhesive backing sheet).

I love it... though my g/f isn't too sure about it. As I said, if anybody wants a copy of the template let me know.

Just browsing through ETKA today...

Looks like the Special is only going to be a four door as they only offer the sill protectors for four door models :(

Also, the price of the adhesive sill protectors has jumped from £3 to £30  How they can justify that i'll never know...

VW Germany now has a page on this on their site:

http://host2.showrooms.volkswagen.de/po ... ?emosite=2

So, it would appear that there are four types of 9n steering wheel:
1) Everything plastic
2) Plastic arms and leather rim (leather pack + sports)
2) Metal arms and leather rim (special)
3) Metal arms and "aero" leather rim (fun/trek)

Deek.
(Bored.. can you tell?)
