Bodykitted and resprayed!!!
Bodykitted and resprayed!!!
Bought my MK4 back in April last year, a basic 1.3... Got it for next to nothing, it needed quite a lot of work done to it!!!
Over the past year ive replaced...
2 x Front Wishbones
Suspension all round (standard), and top mounts
Complete exhaust
Brake Pipes
Wheel Bearings
Cylinder Head Gasket
Timing Belt
Water Pump
Anyways.... after I got it running mechanically smooth (Sitting at 126k and it runs as smooth as my first polo which had 60k on it!!), I decided to start getting the bodywork in order.
Travelled down to Lincoln, got myself a 16v interior and an Rieger RS4 Bodykit (which I decided later I didnt like!!!).
Anyways...... Heres what the car looks like so far, a selection of photos on its progress.
What do you think???
Polo back in April 2006 when I first bought it
Smoked Lights added all round
Lowered 40mm
Test fitting of Spoiler
Stripped down, and partially rubbed down prior to respray
Work In Progress
Roof in Primer
Finished Article - Front
Finished Article - Rear
Bodykit is a Rieger RS3...... on the lookout for some new alloys for it, as these ones look out of place

I think its as low as I really want to go, and I could have got a debadged grill, but I dont really like them if im honest, I got the eyebrow spoiler cut so it could accomodate the original grill badge

Hey, thanks for all the feedback guys
Just to answer a few of your questions, I didn't go for the splitter... I thought it looked ok without it. Didn't want to over-do it.
Total cost all in, I managed to get the bodykit for £200 (minus the skirts) - The guy I bought them from had written off his Polo, and hadn't even fitted the kit, it was brand new. The skirts cost me £70 delivered from Poland, and I needed some new mesh, £20.
Paint and sundries (lacquer, masking tape etc) came to £70
Then I gave my dad £100 for doing it for me (Hes a professional spray painter). He didnt want anything for doing it, but I just gave him that as a thank you. All in all, from start to finish, the bodywork cost me just under £400, which wasn't bad, considering to buy all the bodykit would be in excess of £700!!!!
