I don't think the coilovers you have are galvanised; so they'll probably corrode in the future.
To prevent this, you can use a bit of copper grease around the threads like Jarno has done here. And for extra protection, get some motorcycle chain grease, and spray it around the strut every once in a while.

yeah i was thinkin bout copper graease to stop corrosion, i'll grease them up when it somes to fitting them then,
Yes it is a good price i think. I was going to fit them, but thats going to be three/four hours on the drive, then £50 at pro tyre for laser allignment. Plus theirs laser allignment still isn't that good.
P.C Motors is just off glouster road. elm road to be precise.
if you get them done by him say gareth with the black polo gti recommended you?
me and my brother are vw nutters and throw enough business his way.
Also don't quote me on the price because I had springs fitted not coilies. Cant see there being much different because you got to take the whole assemblies out anyway.
His number is 0117 9424746
Give him a call and see what he say. I have used him for a while and had no problems.

Let me know how you get on?
cheers dude, i think i'll give him a ring tomorrow, i'll ask him about my cam belt at the same time too.
If you're worried about rust/corrosion, spray them with anti-rust paint.
Avoid painting the moving top part that gets compressed into the bottom part, maybe cover a few inches in masking tape while you paint. Oil/grease from the bottom part will keep this unpainted bit rust free.
Overall though, I wouldn't worry too much about it rusting.
