9n wheel help

hey guys

thinking bout buying a set of borbet a's for my 9n. theyre 16's and are 7.5's on the front and 9's on the rears

nice and wide!

Also thinkin of lowering it about 40-50mm in the not too distant future

do you guys reckon there would be serious rubbing issues with wheels that wide?

and what do you think bout just replacing springs or should i jst bite the bullet and buy coilies?

yeh ive wanted them for ages but finding them in the right fitment has been difficult but now a set has come along i really want them!

n yeh they will look awesome, rear dishes r 85mm deep!

haha .......jst hope they fit!

depends on the offset, fronts will want to be 30mm or higher offset if you're lowering.

my rears would catch the arch if much wider, and they're 7.5" and lowered all the way. 8" would be ok just.

I would want to have about 40mm offset on the back with a 9" width wheel. but if you stick 205 tyres on them then they might just fit with 35mm offset!

ps coilovers are for sale....

ok the offsets....fronts are 30 and rears are 15. I could get spacers to change that though couldnt i?
...........because the rear tires r 215 and you say i wud need about 40mm offset would that mean they would stick out the arches loads?

would you not recommend putting 9's on the rear then? would look sick but if its guna cause loads of problems, duno if its worth it.......

Ah i still really want those coilies, pretty low on cash but if i can work anythin out i'll let ya no!

fronts yes,

rears - I don't think so

spacers won't help on the rears, they lower the offset, not increase it.

I even think the rears will not even pass an MOT with that width. shame.

perhaps someone would bite your arm off and swap some 7.5 As for 9 ones?

this is my car, with 7.5" wheels and 32 (33?) offset with 205 tyres.

so yours would stick out

17mm more because of the 15 offset (32-15)
18mm more because of the 9" width (36 wider divided by 2)

= 35mm more. and you can see my wheels already are flush with the metalwork.

ah thts devastatin! only problem with the swap is that a set in 5 x 100 fitment don't come along that often!

I've sent a guy on here a pm cos he had the same wheels on his 9n so i've asked wot sizes etc. his were so hopefully he will gimme some advice!

ahhhhh thts annoyin, i want them sooooooo bad haha! I had a feeling 9's on the back wud b pushin it......wud look phat tho

haha i actually thought that, get the back end as wide as fook! haha would look amazing!

how much is getting the arches flared? you reckon it would need flaring even if it isnt lowered straight away?

I might just buy the wheels and see how they fit etc cos can always sell them on or try and do a swap!
