ive been reading some previous post's about headunit installs along with sub and amp installs and i came across some one saying that if you remove the old standard headunit, its connected to the alarm and when you install and new after market one the alarm will not work or randomly go off sometimes :S and sometimes the central locking will fail??
oh, nice one tim, just ive had problems with my alarm before, due to a leaky rear window seal, i dont wanna be woken by my alarm again, ready to find my window has been put through wen all it was was water on the parcel shelf lol not a good thing! haha
ive changed my headunit, it was installed by a proper audio shop and my alarm goes off randomly. Not that often but it definately goes off for no reason

is that linked to the headunit?
Could be anything really, loud exhaust going by, a cat on the roof, wind etc.
Surely it would be hard to say aye its my headunit that causes it.
like i said, my alarm used to go off randomly because firstly water was leaking into the boot and finding its way to the book lock, which made the wire wet, so the car must have thought the boot was being opened, and secondly wen the water actualy dripped on to the shelf lol, its al sealed up now no more water
really not sure whats with my alarm at all, it never went off once until i changed the headunit and ever since it just seems to do it when it feels like it.
