Speedo Drive

Post by sorted »

Ok, sensor plugs into the gearbox - near the back. Well my speedo stopped - so ordered a new speed sensor that screws into the box. Problem though is that the old one the bit has snaped inside the wee hole where the new pin has to go in - how do i get it out - can i unmount the whole bit the speedo screws onto from the box ??

Havn no speedo is a bit of a problem lol

you could try using a pair of thin nose pliers to get it out or tweezers.

Perhaps two small holes and twist it out with a tool of some sort, or even a screw extractor - that could well work seeing as it screws in

1. Speedo drive screws into gearbox
2. The part the speedo drive screws into can be taken off the gearbox - 22MM DEEP socket.
3. Once you have that bit off, pull out the yellow rod (speedo gear)
4. End of the rod will have the broken bit stuck in it - get it out - or if you cant like me then get a new one (got one at the scrappy £7)
5. Put new rod in , screw on bolt , put on speedo drive - connect plug to the drive and that should be you sorted 8)
