Rear Windscreen Washer Problems With a Twist :)

Hi all,

I have noticed that my rear windscreen washer has stopped working.

It appears to be leaking from the boot lid when I try to use the rear washer so I am assuming it has come undone from the rear wiper.

What makes things worse is that the water is messing around with the electrics in the boot and making the car think that the boot is open when it isn't. This is causing the alarm to go off when the car is parked as it thinks someone has broken into the boot

Can anyone give me advice on how to remove the plastic cover from the boot lid and also the plastic cover at the front of the boot (opposite the back of the seats) so that I can try and fix the problem.

Any help would be much appreciated!!!

I remember the first time it happened with me it was causing my alarm to randomly go off. Second time it happened (last month) it was just the boot light. I pulled out the switch, cleaned it and it has been fine ever since

Are the boot plastics easy to take off ?

I have something rattling around in there when i go round corners, so i could do with taking mine off.

Is it just a case of undoing the two screws and then giving it a good pull ?

I will be checking the washer pipe is secure whilst i am in there as well

Its very easy. Just two screws and some clips. Haynes manual will help.

Remember the screws. I remember getting in a rage as it wouldn't come off with all the clips undone....then I saw the 2 screws *doh*. I've superglued my washer pipe to the connector now, seems to work better than a cable tie

You need to pull the panel out at the "glass" edge. Work in from one side, pulling the panel perpendicular to the door. There's about 6 clips to pop out at the glass edge. Then the panel will come away from the door.

There's 4 tabs at the bottom edge of the boot door that are very easy to break during this job. But they're easy to glue back on too

Two torx screws in the handles recess', carefully unclip and pull away the palstic casing, jobs a good 'n

I found out what my rattling noise was, and it wasnt in the boot lid, it was a couple of huge gobstoppers in the spare wheel well

I might still take off my plastics just to check that the rear pipe is firmly attached if its as easy as you guys are making out.

Not me, the previous owner i presume.

I have only had the car for 3 days and i wouldnt dream of eating in it as it is pristine inside.

Where the sweets came from and how they got into these strange places is a mystery

Yeh i have a no eating and smoking policy in my car too, although I was cleaning mine the other week and found a chewing gum mess sutck to one of the rear mats, not happy!!! doubt it will come out either
