yeh its known to paint them on, but tape is usually an easy and less messier option

I might repaint these ones fully black and try the tape option, as tape is easily reversible if i dont like it.

Cheers, i like this site better than CP, its much easier to navigate round and the members are a lot nicer and more helpful when you have a problem.

So I deciced to paint the lower grilles over the weekend and have decided for the time being to leave them just black:

Image

I think the red stripes around the border would have been ok if they had been painted properly in the first place, but as they werent i wont be painting the back on in a hurry.

I also fitted a new passenger side front ABS sensor, which was a bit of a pain but i got there in the end. My ABS light is still on though and now the engine code is reffering to the hydraulic pump :(

Hopefully its just a bad earth or something simple like that, but knowing my luck it will be the pump (£500-600  )

I have done about 400 miles in it already and i havent even had it for a week yet but they are so fun to drive i am making excuses to keep going out in it

I remember getting in mine for the first time. My previous cars were a 73bhp Mk5 Fiesta and a 84bhp Mk7 Polo, so I definately noticed the difference!

i went from driving a 1.0 polo to the GTI. quite a difference!! i couldnt get used to the power at first, was wheel spinning it all the time. in the 1.0 you have to have foot to the floor all the time just to make it move!!
