What y'all got on youse dashboards like

Post by Tahrey1043 »

Well once I finally get round to putting some "ride" pics up on geosillies or the isp's hosting webspace, I plan to have a little display of the menagerie on the little shelf above the glovebox. There's a collection of beanies and other things growing there from forces only partially under my control.

Current count:
One "Fox Squirrel" (risu-kitsune) or "Teto" plushie thing. Looks like a little mutant lion. The first thing to sit there. Enjoys the feeling of going fast without all that pesky wind.

One Cheeky Monkey ("Schweetheart") beanie baby that my nan bought. Gets used as a screen wipe ;)

One Tribble. Started life as a playboy style bunnygirl (well, bunny boy) tail but now just looks like a white tribble. Also good for wiping.

And the latest arrival, a Volkswagen Beetle. No, not a proper 4-wheeler. It's a beanie "Scarab" bug thing that was on final clearance in the shop where I work (80p for a TY beanie, oh the humanity!), and really, really ugly and crying out for a VW logo tattooed on it's back in biro. Kind of has trouble squishing between the other 3, but I have the feeling it may yet eat the monkey.
Altogether they provide an amusing diversion for other drivers and my passengers, an easy way to spot the car, and an airbag substitute for those riding with me - I can spot the problem and brace precautionarily against the wheel after all, but they can't.
And a source of comfort in rough times of course, or entertainment in gridlock.

There's also Pilot V5 liquid ink writing pen disappeared amongst all that lot somewhere. And a book each of 1st and 2nd class stamps, and a simple 50p comb. Apart from that the high up areas are fairly clear as stuff tends to fly around. Mostly it's on the floor or in the door pockets, and wedged if at all possible. Tapes being maybe the main exception as they only go side to side (can't acclerate quick enough for them to fly out of the cubby between the ashtray and the gearstick).

Whats everyone got on their dashes? A total mess, or clean and uncluttered?

PS I dont collect them, but really... beanie babies rock. There's a Red Panda one, and a buffalo... crazy stuff. Not the average teddy bear. (and I only paid 80p to get a 'bug and a monkey.... but, $44.95 for the independently made plushie, and a good pound for the tribble)

Until last summer I had nothing there, then I got a free giggling Ribena berry with a big bottle of concentrate and it's sat above the glovebox. My dash looks empty without it!!!

My uncle grows blackcurrants for SmithKline Beecham, so it's got a little added family meaning too. All you peeps who like Ribena, some of those blackcurrants have been grown by my family! 8)

Anyone with VWm's report on Action 2003, look out for a pic of a Mk2 saloon with my car in the background, you can see the Ribena Berry on the dash.

No, it doesn't have a name by the way...

Awesome :D

Petrifieds is t3h aw350m35t from where i'm a-sitting (speshally as it links in to the mutant midget lion)... dude! where did you get it from? (and that logo)... does it's head do the clicky from side to side over bumps like some kind of deranged nodding dog?
.... but they all cool :)

Except the dust perhaps, come on people... all that dust is eating in to your 0-60 times, get polishing
(to quote Dilbert.. I don't like the chore of having to wash my car, but lately it's started to affect the MPG..)

SiDaBa, doesn't it all drive you crazy on a lumpy road?

Phoenix.. if you're not a racer or taking the pee, i'm gonna come over there and slap your b***h ass down in a pimp daddy manner, bwoy*. Wouldn't that be on the wrong side of the car anyway?

Polopowah, like it... a nodding "dog" (beefcake?) with rhythm. Functional!

And... beena berries!

lalala

* not really ;) it's your car after all, just poking a little fun after seeing them being featured in too many rice-up and max powaaaa type places. Just please, God, its not an automatic - right?

mutant midget lion??

The Kodama is a plushie but it does make a clicky noise when you shake it, I'll get a pic. I ordered it from Tokyo for £12, had to track it down over the internet though not easy to find. I have seen them on ebay since but at £40.
The logo is the unofficial one for our record label, it's on the website and everything but not on the CD's, well not now  for fear of Japaneese suits.
