Dub is Rubbing.

Post by vw-po-low »

Few problems with Dub rubbing. As much as i love my Cup's , they're a bit of a pain, with a ET of 28 wrapped in 195/45/15 Rubber i'm catching my outter arch, even more now i've had the tracking sorted. Only when i hit a bump though or uneven road surface. Any of you removed your arch lining's or rolled your arches due to this, its only on the front end as the rear sits a bit higher. (Will be lower soon, and with rear spaces)

Any help would be great.

did you have your camber done as well? You need it done. Why will you lower it more if it rubs now?

Same thing happened to me mate, what I've done is just raise the fronts, and when going to local meets or shows, the day before I'd deck it down again, or if I'm lazy not even bother. I was considering arch rolling but haven't really got any monies at the moment so I'm pretty much stuck with what I'm doing now.

Only front Rubs, The rear needs lowering more. As they are not equal.

I'm running 195/45/15 on my G60 steels, ET35 and down around 60mm. My rears catch on the outer arch as yours do.

To be honest mate, if it's just now and then I wouldn't worry about it.

I get it now and then also, and i just think it's re-assuring to know that you are at your lowest point without massive inconveniance.

If I didn't get scrubbing now and then I'd be back under those arches working out exactly how low I can actually go.

If it relaly does bother you though, get em rolled.

They were ace mate, i had a tiny bit crack but this was where my wheel had rubbed the paint down thin, but to be fair they completely warned me of the risks before starting the job. Great service. I had a big rust patch on my rear arch, and they still did it without the paint cracking
