Yeah I was stupid..

Post by nikz »

Basically I got stopped for using my mobile whilst driving today. I know it was stupid and I normally have my handsfree/bluetooth on me however I didn't this time. I really don't want this thread to be a slating match as I know I've done wrong and I am in no way saying that whatever punishment I got wasn't fair. I've now got three points on my license and I've heard different things from different people regarding my insurance going up and I'm not completely sure what the scenario is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry if it wasn't clear. Was just asking how much 3 points can affect insurance if at all as I've heard different things and can't seem to find much Googling it. I tend to ramble a bit.

3 points will increase your insurance. You have to let them know too, otherwise your insurance is void. So your technically driving without insurance, if you do not let them know and could face further trouble.

Thanks for that. Do you know if I have to do it once my license is returned and the points have been placed on or before i.e. now?

Yeah I think so. Any change in your insurance details you have to let them know straight away. Like change of address/mods etc

Wouldn't it be on the system electronically? I'm sure they don't put it on the license itself lol. And that'd mean you end up out of pocket even more surely if you still just get the points!
