iPod Housing

Post by Overseer »

I suppose this would apply to anyone with a USB Stick/MP3 Player/SD Card attachment to a HU...

Right. I’m looking to connect an iPod to my HeadUnit and really just want to see where other people have theirs positioned theirs in the car?

Pics would be great, especially showing where to position the wire from the HeadUnit.

I’ve had a look in the glovebox and it looks like I’m going to have to drill a hole, is there another way?

Cheers.

I also drilled a hole in the glovebox and routed the cable to there. I've got an Alpine HU with iPod connectivity.

Sounds daft, but would someone mind posting pics? Just want to know where I'd have to aim if drilling.

Cheers.

I haven't drilled a hole, there's no need. It fits nicely down the crack of the right hand side of the box and front of it. I'd get you a picture but am up at uni.

Cheers Si.

I guess you have to take the glovebox apart? (I am a complete novice when it comes to things like this).

Nope :) Ill take a pic of where mine is. You can get your hand up the back of it, and from the back of the radio and just push the cable through :)

Mine comes out of this crack here:

Works pefectly, plus you don't have to drill anything!!

If you are going to drill though, get a nice rubber grommet to install to make it look nicer 8)
