Took the Polo for a good long run today and the front suspension seems to be okay . When I bought the car brand new last March it was fine for a couple of months then the knocking / clonking started , it felt as if some major part of the front suspension was loose when braking or going up or down the gears . In December the front suspension arms and a set of modified bushes mark 1 were fitted and as before the car was fine for a couple of months then the problems started again then came back with a vengence . Yesterday a set of modified bushes mark 2 were fitted and the suspension seems to be okay . Hopefully this time the problem is away for good ... If not I may have to end my relationship with Polos for good as this car has drove me round the bend with all the various problems its had . My last 5 cars have been Polos but this one is not of the old VW quality ...... no way !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats the annoying things, its not as if they are major problems, just niggly little things like the dash rattling that drives you absolutely potty. VW dont seem to care how annoying these faults are and because they are not dangerous dont give a toss.
I wish id never sold my mk3 golf to my dad now!

Mine is going in on Monday.. If they don't sort it I am not going to be pleased. I know where on the dash it is coming from so I hope they strip down the dash and put the padding where is should be! If it wasn't for the passenger airbag, my rattles would have gone ages ago
My warranty work has amounted to about 7 things!!! But to be fair they are smallish faults which haven't really bothered me, but as it's going in they might as well do them all.
And I am going to speak to the service manager and go through all the faults with him (for what's it's worth) because these have to be done, NO EXCUSES! It's weird how my car doesn't have anything actually really wrong with it *touch wood* but the rattle is spoiling driving it, and we all know how bad London roads are with the bumps etc
*EDIT* They have no courtesy cars till 7th May, typical!

Well thats 2 weeks tomorrow that suspension bushes mark 2 have been fitted and guess what ...... the front suspension is knackered again !!!!!!!!!!! .
Now let me recap ive had the factory fitted bushes replaced by modified bushes mark 1 which were replaced by modified bushes mark 2 . So in the year since I purchased the car brand new ive had 3 sets of suspension bushes and the front suspension is knackered again !!!!!!!!! .
Anybody that tells me that VW has not went right downhill is talking pure s**t as all ive had is bother with this heap of junk since the day and hour I purchased it . Bearing in mind that my last 5 cars have been Polos but this is definatley my last VW thats for sure .
Oh God I feel so much better now that ive got that of my chest ...... LOL .

If it's that bad, then I would seriously think about dumping the thing. It is only a car, after all. It will never make financial sense to do this (unless you can normally afford to change cars after 13 months), but - at the end of the day - what's the cost (emotional and financial) of all this hassle?Stephen123 wrote:Wife was in tears the other night over this car.
How much would you pay to get rid of the problems? If that figure's equal to or greater than the financial loss you'd suffer by selling the car earlier than you had budgeted for, then there's your answer...
Deek.

First of all I dont have Squeaking / Creaky suspension like many other 9N owners .Nelson_Wilbury wrote:How exactly is it knackered? Squeaking again?
I will try to explain as best as I can , firstly after you brake or change gear or jolt the car in any way you get movement and a clonking noise from the suspension at the front end of the car . Its as if something very heavy is loose like the effect you would get if your engine mountings were knackered only its not the engine that moves its the suspension . Its even worse if you take a sharp left or right and your steering wheel is in full or near enough full lock position . The mechanics and service managers at the dealers agree there is a problem but cant get to the bottom of it . Thats 3 different sets of bushes and a set of arms thats been fitted and the whole suspension has been off and re aligned & torqued .

Mines gone in today to having the modified bushes and dashboard fitted.
I asked about the dashboard and it is a totally new dashboard and was released around the end of Feb.
Ill let you know how I get on.
They've also agreed to supply and fit some upgraded rear speakers and I jokingly said ill have a Road Angel aswell (As they have a demo box there now) and he said he'd sort me one out! So £500 worth of stuff as compo
